Title: Writing Team Lead, Curriculum Development

Curriculum Development Team Lead, IU

In support of this, the CDT Team Lead is responsible to manage one or more units of the Curriculum Development Team to complete tasks in coordination with other CDT units, CEHE Academic Affairs, Independence University Academics, and other stakeholders in the creation and management of curriculum and related materials.

Team leads report to the Director of Curriculum Development and Assistant Director of Curriculum Development. Team leads are expected to be proactive problem solvers and innovators working within a provided framework. Exceptional collaboration is required.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides first-line supervision of curriculum development team members, including arranging for proper employee support, time management, conflict resolution, and team building
  • Provides support to Director of Curriculum Development, Assistant Director of Curriculum Development, and other CDT Team Leads as necessary
  • Assists external parties with team tasks, including scheduling resources, establishing deadlines for deliverables, resolving conflicts and questions, and facilitating collaboration
  • Physical demands – sitting at a desk with intermittent walking, standing; for up to eight hours, bending, and occasionally lifting objects (up to 15 pounds). Work is performed primarily in a home workplace.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to communicate well both written and verbally
  • Experience supervising in online environments
  • Computer skills including MS Office suite and learning management systems
  • Ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Earned a Master’s degree
  • Computer skills including Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience with Canvas preferred
  • Three or more years of instructional design experience for online course development
  • Experience supervising employees
  • Experience managing projects
