Animalz is a content marketing agency that strives to create the best content on the web. We help companies—particularly B2B SaaS businesses—grow by making great content that their audience loves.

Our focus is on long-form, written content that helps companies educate their audience (executives, managers, and other specialized professionals in their field) on strategies and tactics for being successful in their work.

For this role, we are looking for a part-time (approximately 10 hours maximum per week) Technical Content Consultant who is keen to help us improve the quality, scope, and detail of technical subject matter in our long-form content marketing. This person should be someone who has substantial experience working with software development, one or more programming languages, and open source. They should also, ideally, have an interest in long-form content marketing for technical audiences.

The Technical Content Consultant will work closely with our Technical Content Marketing Managers as both an editor and a coach. They will answer technical questions, quality check written content (product blog posts, thought leadership, and tutorials), and improve our writers’ understanding of subject matters.

This role reports to a content strategist, and may also work closely with our Director of R&D.

You’re a fit for the Technical Content Consultant role if:

  • You have 5 or more years experience as a full stack developer
  • You’ve worked closely with marketing or product teams in the past
  • You’re skilled at explaining technical concepts clearly to junior developers (and technically minded non-engineers)
  • You are proficient in multiple, widely-used programming languages (including, but not limited to, Python, Ruby, Java, Swift, PHP, and SQL)
  • You have experience working with popular frameworks (like Express.js, Flask, Django, Vue.js, and Angular)
  • You’ve mentored contributors in previous roles
  • You are an expert at quickly learning multiple languages and frameworks (and are great at teaching that skill to others)
  • You have experience with, or at least a strong interest in, content marketing for technical audiences
  • You’re available for up to 10 hours per week to review drafts and work with via Slack, email, and/or Zoom calls
