The role of this Social Media Coordinator position is to increase the follower count and engagement rate for Koreaboo’s social media accounts by managing and posting content that is interesting for our current and potential readers. This position requires someone who is extremely passionate about the Korean entertainment industry, comfortable with various social media platforms, and has deep knowledge about different fandoms.
FULL-TIME, CONTRACT POSITION. 40+ HOURS PER WEEK.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Koreaboo’s social media accounts, with a focus on Instagram and Twitter
- Update Koreaboo’s Instagram account by converting news articles to Instagram posts and stories
- Post content to IGTV consistently to drive video views
- Tweet about the Korean entertainment industry, especially K-Pop, on Koreaboo’s Twitter account
- Translate celebrity tweets in replies for non-Korean followers to direct traffic back to Koreaboo’s account (if fluent in Korean)
- Increase amount of verified Twitter accounts following Koreaboo by targeting them with tweets
- Identify viral trends and trending topics in order to participate in them using Koreaboo’s social media accounts
- Assist in establishing communication lines and/or partnerships with other popular K-Pop social media accounts
- Assist in developing and implementing a strategy to increase Koreaboo’s social media accounts’ followers and engagement rate
- Interact with fans on Koreaboo’s social media accounts
- Perform other duties that include the above tasks but are not limited to these activities
Requirements:
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- A good understanding of Korean is a plus
- Deep knowledge of K-Pop, the Korean entertainment industry, and individual K-Pop fandoms is a must
- Ability to complete assigned responsibilities remotely is a must
- Familiarity with the Instagram and Twitter platforms is a must
- Familiarity with other social media platforms, especially Facebook, is a plus
- Professional experience in managing social media accounts is a plus
