We are looking for a meticulous and passionate client-side Senior Web Designer who is eager to produce state-of-the-art work for our products and clients. The ideal candidate believes that the Web should provide a unified experience no matter what device people use. You pride yourself in elegant, well-organized designs, attention to detail, and being at the forefront of contemporary design. You are comfortable working on your own, as well as in a team to provide a superior customer experience.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Design elegant, intuitive, responsive and functional user experiences for desktop, tablets and mobile.
- Provide client-side development in HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, Sass, Bootstrap, SemanticUI, FontAwesome, etc.
- Design professional and pixel-perfect web pages and components (icons, images, etc.)
- Work as a collaborative team member with clients, business analysts, developers, and our sales team
- Ability to follow specification and design documentation and ensure design standards are properly adhered to by developers and business analysts.
- Working within project schedules and multi-tasking to meet deadlines
- Ensuring sites meet AODA/ADA/etc. WCAG 2.0 accessibility requirements (as required)
Skills & Requirements
Required Skills And Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience as a front-end development in hand-crafted HTML, CSS, and BootStrap
- 5+ years of experience doing web design and graphics
- Have a portfolio of design work that is clear and professional
- Extensive experience developing for, and testing with, different browser technologies (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE/Edge)
- A passion for building a superior experience for web users and a proven track record of solving complex design problems
- Thorough understanding of usability and user-centric design
- Have artistic vision, an aesthetic eye and limitless creativity
- Be self-motivated, open-minded, creative, and self-critical
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, creative environment
Additional Assets
- Have experience working independently with clients
- Experience with WCAG is a plus
- Experience using Inkscape, Krita and Glimpse/GIMP would be an asset
- Knowledge of JavaScript and JQuery would be an asset
