Static Media is looking for a few enthusiastic, detail-oriented freelance Script Editors to join our team. Script editing is the process of translating our published articles into the videos that are published across our many YouTube channels. The Script Editor creates a detailed document that’s essentially a roadmap for our talented video editors to follow.
Topics range from movies and pop culture, to women’s lifestyle, celeb gossip, weird scientific discoveries, and the best hot dogs you can buy. We do a little bit of everything.

Static Media delivers engaging content across a broad spectrum of topics. Tackling blockbuster movies, the year’s best new styles, the secrets of the universe, and everything in between, Static Media’s content never stands still.
Script Editor Responsibilities:
- Read and understand the articles across all of our sites (Looper, Nicki Swift, Grunge, The List, Mashed, SVG)
- Edit, revise, and fact-check copy from articles that have been chosen to be transformed into scripts.
- Search out appropriate videos & images to pair with voiceover text in annotated Google docs.
- Closely conform to our style guide and follow editorial guidance on how to handle each script’s unique content and challenges.
- Hit weekly goals and deadlines. Self-directed assignment completion is a necessity.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Attention to detail when it comes to our company’s style, content, and copyright guidelines.
- An eye for matching visuals with words
- Strong research skills, which are necessary to search out hard-to-find visual assets for esoteric script topics
- Flexible schedules for movie-premiere focused assignments
Experience:
Minimum three years editorial experience writing and editing. Web-based/YouTube scripting experience preferred.
