Grant Writer (Part time)

Hours: 18 Hours per week; flexible; non-exempt position; remote work opportunities

Location: Clifton NJ

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Development Director and CEO, and working collaboratively with Executive and Program Directors, Catholic Charities’ Grant Writer will be responsible for producing high quality grant proposals within a specified timeframe that result in funding.

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson has a multitude of diverse programs and capital improvement needs. We are seeking a part-time grant writer and coordinator who will be a key part of our Development Team. The person in this role will be responsible for building the grant writing function of our organization and working equitably with all 3 of our agencies: Straight and Narrow, Catholic Family and Community Services and the Department for Persons with Disabilities.

The Grant Writer will work with program leaders across Catholic Charities to draft grant proposals and reports, develop content for fundraising requests and communications to foundations, coordinate proposals and report submissions to funders, conduct prospect research, and assist with other development projects as needed.

This is a newly-created position, and we are looking for someone who is eager to jump in, learn quickly, and take initiative.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in English, communications, creative writing or related field
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • CFRE certification preferred
  • Grant writing certification preferred
• Fundraising experience
  • with a specific history of applying for and obtaining foundation grants
• Minimum 2 years Grant Writing Experience

• Proof of a valid New Jersey driver’s license, adequate automobile insurance coverage and vehicle for use on the job.
