BobVila.com, the online home of America’s #1 home improvement icon, is seeking freelance editors to join its team of contributors.

Visited by millions each month, BobVila.com publishes new content daily, with themes running the gamut from aspirational to instructional. Readers trust the brand for answers to their peskiest appliance problems, shopping guidance for household staples, and advice on how to streamline household maintenance. Therefore, we rely on our editors to help us create accessible, solidly researched service content on anything and everything related to the home: must-do maintenance, real estate, organization, renovation, design, DIY, yard work, and much more.

About the assignments:
Our service content comes in the form of advice columns, how-tos, shopping guides, roundups of dos and don’ts, and more. Above all, our priority is packaging the need-to-know info in a well-researched, easy-to-digest story. Editors will work closely with our team of writers to ensure that the content is complete, accurate, and grammatically correct before it publishes. We want to paint a clear picture with our words and leave no unanswered questions for our readers, who are of all skill levels when it comes to home maintenance projects and design.

Rates range from $25 to $50 per hour, commensurate with your experience. The stories to edit range between 700 and 2,000 words, depending on the format.

About you:
The ideal contributor is a detail-oriented editor with at least two years of experience in digital media and an interest in home and garden. (Experience in lifestyle and shelter publications is preferred, but not a prerequisite.) We’re looking for team members who are available to take on anywhere from three assignments per month to three assignments per week.
