Team & Role Description:
The Compliance team, guides, protects and safeguards Bitso’s reputation while protecting our users. The team uses state-of-the-art technology to monitor transactional alerts on a daily basis. As part of the compliance team, you will help us to maintain an area which identifies, monitors, prevents and reports to the Head of Regulatory Risk, Compliance Officer and the respective authorities. In addition, you will be helping the team to update and implement controls, methods, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across various jurisdictions.
Responsibilities:
- Analysis role, focused on investigation of alerts, reviewing, screen and case-escalation to th respective MLRO’s.
- Monitor and act upon AML/CFT related alerts.
- Carryout in-depth investigations and compile suspicious activity reports.
- Conduct Due Diligence Reviews as part of AML Policy.
- Pattern recognition of unusual or suspicious activities.
- Attention of on-boarding requests and supporting Intelligence Unit, on an ad hoc basis.
- Participation in internal and external audits.
- Assist with AML/CFT related matters or projects.
- Assisting the respective Compliance Officer across jurisdictions.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience in Compliance Standards and AML/CFT regulation in the financial services and crypto industry.
- Bachelor’s degree, Compliance related certifications or AML blockchain forensics qualification.
- Strong ability to conduct in-depth investigations.
- Self-starter, drive projects with minimal guidance and focus on high-impact work.
- Strong communication skills to effectively synthesize, visualize and communicate your ideas to others in both English. However, having a second language e.g. Spanish would be great!
- Outstanding attention to detail.
*These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.*
Additionally, it would be nice if you:
- Experience using technological tools e.g. Chainalysis or equivalent.
- Decision-making abilities.
- Having a high degree of responsibility.
- Knowledge of fintech and crypto industry is a must!
