Identity theft plagues everyday Americans. Innocent people wake up to find their credit trashed, they’re thousands of dollars of debt, and criminal records in their name.
In this project, you’ll protect people from it. We’re a media company that provides advice on identity theft protection, we need a creative person to research the identity theft protection landscape, and create written and video content to help our audience.
Every article and video you create will be under your name, and you can showcase this as part of your portfolio. We hope to wrap this project up in 1 – 2 months.
Deliverables:
Research Stage (1 week):
In the research stage, you’ll research the identity theft protection landscape. You’ll be in the field gathering insights into what’s available, which products are suited to different customer segments, what features customers value the most etc. Specifically, you’ll create:
- A table comparing the features of 10+ identity theft products.
- A short summary of findings during your research.
Content Creation Stage (1 – 2 months):
In the content creation stage, you’ll create 50 pieces of content on topics such as:
- Product reviews
- Product comparisons
- Product how-to’s
- Teaching people to keep themselves safe
All topics will be written articles, with an accompanying video each.
Who you are:
- You have a desire to truly help protect people from identity theft.
- You see us as a partner, bouncing ideas off us, rather than just doing the minimum.
- You are curious and want to know everything you can about the identity theft protection landscape.
- You’re from the US and have an SSN, so you can fully use and review the product.
- You’re great in front of the camera and can make videos.
- You see things from the audience’s perspective. You’re able to touch on their desires and fears to resonate with them.

- We’re a professional media company that produces content for over 120,000 US-based visitors a month. We’re 100% remote, and work with freelance content creators every day.
- If you do well in this project, we will make you our go-to person for end-to-end projects where research, content and video is required. Meaning more meaningful projects in your portfolio.

What you’ll be doing has never been done before. Most competitors we’ve found merely rehash specs from the product’s website. They’ve never put their hands on the actual product. You’ll be in the field gathering intelligence and mapping the entire identity theft protection landscape. You will make a profound contribution to the lives of average Americans.
